摘要
This paper proposes a framework for optimizing the layout of surveillance cameras in general outposts along the mountainous border region of the Republic of Korea. Traditional optimization methods focusing on maximizing detection areas often fall short in this terrain. Our approach incorporates expected infiltration routes to enhance detection success rates. The framework involves four stages: (1) defining the surveillance area, (2) identifying infiltration routes using terrain and vegetation data with the A* algorithm, (3) modeling cameras detection areas and probabilities, and (4) optimizing the camera layout for maximum detection success. The optimized layout is compared to traditional methods and evaluated under various scenarios, including information leakage. Results indicate that the proposed method significantly improves detection effectiveness in challenging mountainous regions. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd
