NEC Generative AI Service (NGS) Promoting Internal Use of Generative AI

In May 2023, we launched the NEC Generative AI Service (NGS) with the aim of internal business use. For the large language model (LLM), we used not only GPT-3.5 from Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service but also GPT-4 and NEC’s LLM. We not only made mechanisms available but also established rules so employees could appropriately use generative AI and prepared policies for its use. In addition, to make full use of generative AI within the NEC Group and lead the way in achieving overwhelming improvements in productivity, we launched the NEC Generative AI Transformation Office and started to provide the MyData service from December 2023, aiming to improve the value of the NGS.
