New logging tool enchances multiphase production analysis

The Schlumberger Flow Scanner is a new multifunction production logging platform that is producing quantifiable results in complex triphasic flow regimes. It features close integration of its 17 sensors in an 11ft long sonde to obtain a true dynamic flow characteristics at any point in the well. It is designed to operate in wellbore diameters ranging from 2 7/8 to 9in and under environmental conditions up to 300°F and 15,000 psi. the articulated Flow Scanner sonde is valuable in deviated and horizontal multiphase wells, where phase behavior is extremely variable and complex. It is necessary to mechanically, electrically, and optically scan the full diameter of the wellbore to obtain accurate dynamic flow at any point in the well;
