With more then 30 different pharmacopeias worldwide, the authors propose the creation of a single, global, ideal pharmacopeia, which would provide appropriate standardization, facilitate drug registration, and support regulatory agencies. The authors also delve into the history of pharmacopeias and the vital role they play in the pharmaceuticalindustry.
