Scrap rubber processors, having experienced success in 2006, are enjoying high selling prices, growth in most existing markets, and new markets that can ensure continued success. They are carefully looking forward at ISRI's third annual Tire Recycling Business Summit to make their future more successful. Processors must adopt higher standards of customer service and treat customer requirements with the urgency they deserve. They must have adequate technology to make a quality product, adequate controls to ensure continuous quality, and adequate operational quality standards in their facilities. They must improve safety performance, cooperate with each other on best practices, and work with vendors to improve processing technology. Recyclers must improve the integrity and image of the industry by meeting their commitments and covering the broadest range of products and services to meet the demands of the customers.
