Contactless tool heating-induction coil and control for parameter identification with defined heat input

摘要
For experimental investigation of thermal behaviour of rotational cutting tools a contactless heating is required. This article describes the design of an induction coil and its control system, aiming to enable a homogeneous and controllable heat input into the tool. Therefore voltage and frequency should be adjustable and accurately defined by the control. First experiments show the functionality of the inductor for defined and repeatable tool heating. © Carl Hanser Verlag, München.
