摘要
In order to solve the problem of uncontrollable water absorption, a temperature-responsive superabsorbent with semi-interpenetrating network was prepared by aqueous solution polymerization using sodium alginate (SA) as a raw material, acrylic acid (AA) as a monomer, polyethylene glycol diacrylate-700 (PEGDA-700) and tetraallylammonium bromide (TAAB) as mixed crosslinking agents. The network structure of gels was analyzed and characterized by scanning electron microscopy. The water absorption kinetics and the temperature response at different temperatures were studied. The results show that PAA/SA has looser network than PAA. The swelling ratios are obviously different at various temperatures with the change of mass ratios between PEGDA-700 and TAAB. The water absorption kinetics was well fitted by the Schott's pseudo second order kinetic equation. The superabsorbent showed excellent temperature-responsive property under the condition of mass ratios of PEGDA-700 to AA and TAAB to AA of 0.12% and 0.14% respectively. The swelling ratios increased gradually with the increase of environmental temperature and can be controlled by temperature. © 2020, Editorial Board of "Journal of Chemical Engineering of Chinese Universities".
