摘要
The Eu2+ activated blue emitting BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ (BAM) phosphor for plasma display panel application was successfully prepared by the solution combustion method. The mechanism of H3BO3 as flux for the luminescence properties of the BAM phosphor was investigated. The results show that the use of H3BO3 as flux can help to crystallize the phosphor, and enhances the intensities of the excitation and emission spectra of the BAM. The optimum content of H3BO3 is about 1.0% in mass which increases the relative emission intensity of the BAM more than 30%. The flux mechanism for the improvement of the photoluminescence cha-racteristics of the BAM is that the H3BO3 melts at a low temperature to form liquid phase, which accelerates the velocity of the chemical reaction, prompting the Eu2+ to enter the BAM lattice through grain boundary diffusion and improving the morphology of particles, endowing them with round edges, smooth surfaces and nearly spherical shapes.
