A recognition method using uncorrelated discriminant locality preserving projections

摘要
A new face recognition feature extraction and recognition method based on uncorrelated discriminant locality preserving projections was proposed. Based on the characteristics of locality preserving projections and the space information among the samples belonging to the same class, new definitions of a within-class scatter matrix and of a between-class scatter matrix were given and then a new objective function with uncorrelated constraints was defined. Based on the new objective function, the formula to compute the uncorrelated discriminant locality preserving vectors was given by theoretical analysis. Experimental results on a face database showed the proposed method outperforms discriminant locality preserving analysis and other existing improved methods based on discriminant locality preserving projections.
