摘要
At up to 3300 mm, SMS Demag's continuous caster supplied to Anyang Iron and Steel Company in the People's Republic of China now produces the world's widest steel slabs. For the production of slabs which are more than 2 500 mm wide, the design of a continuous caster must satisfy specific requirements in terms of the technological boundary conditions. This concerns the investigation of the flow characteristics within the mould and tundish, a sufficient strand support system plus the design of the secondary cooling concept. This paper presents the design and technological features which ensure that sophisticated steel grades can be cast at high speeds to yield slabs of a constantly high quality.
