Application for fluid-solid coupling numerical method in the motion of flyer driven by slab explosive initiated at center point

A numerical simulation is performed for detonation driving problem of slab explosive initiated at center point by employing Eulerian/Lagrangian coupling method in this paper. Eulerian method is conducted to simulate explosive and ambient gas, and Largangian method to track flyer motion and deformation. Ghost Fluid method is adopted to solve the contact surface between fluid and solid. The entire processes, including ignition process of explosive, propagation of detonation wave, deformation and motion of flyer, are investigated. It is analyzed emphatically for history of velocity and displacement of rear surface. Good agreement is achieved between the numerical results and that obtained through LS-DYNA software. This indicates that the present numerical method is correct and appropriate to solve such engineering problem of strong interaction between explosive and metal.
