Study on new speed control system for doubly salient permanent magnet motor

On the base of applying finite element analysis method to 6/4 pole prototype doubly salient permanent magnet (DSPM) motor, the cause of torque ripple is analyzed. Aimed at control system of speed and current circles currently, a novel control system of speed and torque circles is proposed in order to reduce phase-change torque ripple and steady torque ripple for nonlinear variation of phase induction and flux linkage. Observation model of torque is structured. The validity of the new speed control system is verified by simulation and test. The low speed contrast between current control and torque control through test indicates that torque control can reduce torque ripple greatly and speed is stable.
