In this paper, the outbound transportation organization optimization problem for China Railway Express was studied.According to the existing two modes of the direct and assembly transportation organization, an optimization model of the transportation organization model for China Railway Express was presented to explore the key elements of freight transportation.Based on the case study of Urumqi chosen in the"Belt and Road" China-Europe International Freight Train League Declaration, as the logistic assembly center of westward China Railway Express, the feasibility of the proposed model was analyzed.The actual data from the investigation were put into the mathematical optimization model to get the optimal solution.In order to explore the key factors affecting the mode of freight transport organization, the paper analyzed the impact of two parameters, including the average travel speed and the time value of the goods, on the transportation organization mode, and made conclusions that have guiding significance to the train operation organization for China Railway Express. © 2019, Department of Journal of the China Railway Society.
