摘要
A laboratory study was conducted to monitor the ground water quality of selected locations of Jharia Coalfield region by examining the various physico-chemical parameters like pH, Conductivity, Turbidity, Total Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness, Dissolve Oxygen, Acidity, Alkalinity, Sodium ions, Calcium ions, Magnesium ions, Chloride and Sulphate ions. Groundwater samples were collected from twenty (20) open well at various locations in the study area during pre monsoon season. A comparison made by drinking water standards IS: 10500 (1983) shows that the water is nearly suitable for drinking purpose. Few water samples were alkaline along with high Total Dissolved Solids, Total Hardness and Mg ions. © Research India Publications.
