The strong demand for multiple TV streams and direct competition from cable competitors Access and Shaw, SaskTel is planning to make the bold moves for extending the innovative services to its customers. SaskTel has launched its IPTV video service over DSL, Internet Accsess, TV and VoD over its IP-based deep fiber access network. SaskTel's Max HD Ultimate service is providing a wide array of offerings, including 27 Max HD channels, 13 regular theme packages, Movie Central, AM/FM radio stations and many other services at an introductory low price of $59 a month. Alcatel is providing a package deal of software and network infrastructure for the IPTV and HDTV program and SaskTel is utilizing Alcatel's 7330 ISAM FTTN (fiber-to-the-node), 7750 service router, and the 7450 Ethernet service switch. By deploying single IP-based network powered by Alcatel routers/switches, SaskTel is delivering IPTV and HDTV to all its customers and business services such as VoIP and VPN.
