In many applications, dynamic seals are used at high temperatures which can lead to many problems like damage or ageing of elastomer and lubricant or in formation of oil carbon. A recently built seal test rig enables very high temperatures up to above 250 °C with grease lubrication. Experiments show the influence of high temperatures on function and friction of seals. © 2024 Expert Verlag. All rights reserved.
