摘要
The increasingly frequent terrorist attacks and natural disasters have put the design of high-rise buildings around the world under heavy scrutiny. Architects and engineers are required to develop the strongest material, the tightest security measures, and the highest energy efficiency. Fire safety precautions in a building's initial design are crucial which has been global common practice that high-rise buildings were designed only for phased evacuation. Mechanical engineering will be the key to the tower's future reputation as not only the tallest building, but as the first next-generation tower to install lifts to aid evacuation. The need for a lift to have an electrical and mechanical system protected from failure or from water is significant issue that needs to be addressed. Fire Safety engineering Group has developed Exodus, a software used to analyze high-rise building evacuation.
