Removal of U(VI) and Co(II) from polluted waters by the method of micelle-enhanced ultrafiltration

We have investigated the possibility of using the anion surface active substance - sodium dodecylsulfate and nonionogenic monoalkylphenil ether - polyethyleneglycole for purifying polluted waters of U(VI) and Co(II) by the method of micelle-enhanced ultrafiltration. We have determined principal characteristics of the membrane process: retention coefficients of the metals studied and the values of the transmembrane flow for the polymer membrane UPM-20. We have demonstrated the efficiency of micelle-enhanced ultrafiltration for purifying wastewaters of radionuclides using U(VI) and Co(II) as an example. © 2006 by Allerton Press, Inc.
