Export pricing for U.S. old corrugated containers (OCC) to China dropped with levels down $10/ton from California at $100- $105/ton, f.o.b. seller's stock. The decline on the export OCC price to Asia came as U.S. mills on the West Coast dropped their OCC price for September 1, 2006 to $95-$100/ton, f.o.b. seller's dock. Chinese containerboard mills appeared well supplied as they drove through their seasonal high production period and pricing for testliner in China also increased. The fire that burned 20,000 to 30,000 tons of recovered paper supply at the Ningo boxboard mill in China did not impact demand for U.S. recovered paper. Nine Dagons paper was working with the Bank of China for a four-year loan that would help pay for the company's expansion plans. Anhui Shanying Paper plans to install an Andritz about 200,000 mtpy deinked pulp line at its containerboard pulp mill in Maanshan, China.
