Diehl regains control of BGT Defence

Diehl has repurchased Matra/EADS' stake in the Diehl BGT defense venture, arguing that the process of national consolidation of missile capacities is currently not progressing. Diehl now holds 100 per cent of BGT Defence- a producer of air-to-air missile systems which is behind the IRIS-T program. The company also announced that Diehl and Thales it is planning to merge Diehl Luftfahrt Elektronik and Diehl Avionik to create Diehl Aerospace. The venture will focus on the provision of cockpit avionics systems and flight-control components for military and commercial aircraft, such as the A380 and B787 passenger jets.
