The average radiation efficiency of a rectangular stiffened thin plate

The vibration and sound radiation of a rectangular stiffened thin plate were investigated by using the method of the engineering equivalence. The average radiation efficiency formula of the rectangular stiffened plate driven by a simple harmonic point force was derived. The numerical simulation and the experiment were implemented. The consistency of the theory analysis and the experiment shows that the average radiation efficiency formula of the rectangular stiffened thin plate is similar to that of the uniform rectangular thin plate and circular thin plate. They are all the weighted mean of the modal radiation efficiency. In the middle and high frequency band, the average radiation efficiency of the crisscross stiffened thin plate is maximal. The unidirectional stiffened thin plate takes the second place, and the uniform thin plate is the minimum. While in the low frequency band and above the critical frequency, there is no significant difference between them. © 2016, Editorial Office of Journal of Vibration and Shock. All right reserved.
