Elimination of carrier frequency offset in uplink OFDMA system based on TD-LMS algorithm

A time-domain adaptive algorithm based on least mean square (TD-LMS) is proposed to eliminate the interference due to the carrier frequency offset (CFO) from different users in uplink OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access) system. In this algorithm, the CFO in time domain is estimated and is adjusted with an estimator. Then, the residual CFO is eliminated with TD-LMS scheme in time domain. Simulated results indicate that, ascompared with the algorithm based on least square, the proposed algorithm is effective in eliminating the CFO of users, with a gain of 3dB in the same simulation conditions.
