Sagem conducts landmark Sperwer flight

Sagem has conducted the first flight of its Défense Sécurité Sperwer tactical reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), on February 16, 2006. The areas of flight test are separately activated as the air vehicle moves from one to the another and do not include towns. During operations, the UAV is controlled from ground station with the controller receiving pictures through a front-mounted forward-facing camera. The air vehicle is visible to air traffic control (ATC) which can direct other aircraft away from its flight path.
