A complete and coherent device model must represent parameter data within the context of a device's structure and relate these elements to a control surface. This paper discusses the development of a device model that represents parameters within a flexible; logical hierarchy that relates parameter addresses to device structure. The model is also discussed within the context of a self-configuring discovery and control environment;
