Canadian company CAE will provide support for UK Royal Navy (RN) simulators, upgrade joint European Lynx helicopter simulators, and provide a third A 109 utility helicopter simulator to the CAE-AgustaWestland joint venture Rotorsim under CAD22 million worth of contracts. Under the five-year contract with the RN, the company will provide line maintenance and support for Westland Lynx combat and anti-submarine helicopters, EH Industries Merlin anti-submarine helicopters, Westland Sea King multipurpose helicopters and BAE Sea Harrier air defence/attack aircraft simulators at RNAS Yeovil and RNAS Culdrose. The company will provide personnel and material for a full range of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance as well as inventory management, hardware and software configuration management, and life cycle support. CAE has also been awarded a contract to supply Rotorsim with an additional cockpit for the A 109 simulator being built at the Rotorsim facility at Sesto Calende in Italy.
