摘要
Harmonics cause excessive losses of transformers and reduce their output capacity. This paper analyzed the effects of harmonics generated by rectifiers on the main transformer in the traction power supply system for urban mass transit. The MATLAB/SIMULINK was used to establish the models of 12-pulse and 24-pulse rectifiers and simulate the harmonic currents which were utilized for transformer derating calculation based on the standard IEEE C57.110 procedures. The results show as follows: 1) Transformer derating generated by harmonics is considerable; 2) the 24-pulse rectifier has less effect on transformer derating than the 12-pulse rectifier; 3) with the same harmonic currents, the higher the proportion of DC resistance losses in the total load losses of the transformer, the less the excess harmonic losses. The research resuets provide reference for load calculation and transformer capacity determination of the urban mass transit traction power supply system.
