Accomplishment of signal transformation module of 40 Gbit/s very short reach parallel optical transmission system

The principle and method of signal transformation in the 40 Gb/s very short reach (VSR) parallel optical transmission system was researched according to the OIF-VSR5-01.0 CWDM agreement. The modules of clock and data recovery, channel alignment, 64 b/66 b transform, frame alignment, scrambler and descrambler were designed on the programmable logic device FPGA using hard description language. The electrical signal transform between SFI-5 interface and OIF-VSR5-01.0 interface were realized. The simulation results show that all the modules meet the requirements of system, while IP core is established conforming to four-channel CWDM agreement.
