摘要
Experiments were performed in a 133 m long horizontal test loop to study the evolution of liquid slug parameters. The statistical distributions of slug lengths and frequencies were measured by conductivity probes. The results show that the minimum stable liquid slug length is about 15D and a new correlation of wake effect of elongated bubble was presented. A slug tracking model was adapted to study the evolution of the liquid slug lengths and frequencies. In the present model, the new correlation of wake effect was taken into account and random slug lengths are introduced at the entrance. The results of the model were verified by the experimentally determined average slug length, maximum slug length and average slug frequency. The comparison shows that the measured parameters are predicted well by the model.
