摘要
With the development of modern electronic warfare technology? the battlefield environment faced by airborne radar is becoming more complex. Traditional airborne radar often transmits fixed waveforms, which make it more difficult to effectively detect and track the target in the complex and changeable electromagnetic environment and the dynamic time-varying clutter environment. The new system radar, such as cognitive radar and multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar, can flexibly design waveforms at the transmitter to coincide with the environment, which improves the adaptability of the airborne radar in the complex battlefield environment. This paper summarizes the research and development of waveform optimization design for new system airborne radar. Firstly, the basic principle of cognitive radar is systematically described, and the waveform optimization design of the new system airborne radar is summarized. Then, the research results of waveform optimization design of new system airborne radar are combed from the perspective of the prior condition and transmit-receive processing. Finally, aiming at the problems that existed in the current airborne radar waveform optimization technology, the development trend of airborne radar waveform optimization design in the future is proposed. © 2023 Chinese Institute of Electronics.
