摘要
Based on the developed iron loss algorithm of surface-mounted permanent magnet (PM) motors such as Slemon, and so on, the expressions of the amplitude and its time rate change of flux density in the teeth and in the yoke are derived with the consideration of the beveling edges of PM. Then, a method to analytically calculate the average eddy-current loss density in the teeth and the yoke is presented, and an analytical model of the iron loss of PM motor with beveling edges is presented, finding that beveling edges help to effectively decrease the iron loss. A very good agreement between the experimental results and the calculated ones shows that the proposed method is correct and effective.
