When developers DWTTY (Do What They Tell You), more expensive, less coherent systems delivered in larger, risky release often results. In addition, DWTTY suffers from the fatal flaw of lack of responsibility. There are many alternatives to DWTTY though. One involves the application of the principle of baby steps. Baby steps create feedback, reduce wasted effort and encourage trust among the team members.
