A sister organization of the American Water Works Association (AWWA); Awwa Research Foundation (AwwaRF); has completed successful 40 years of its operations in administering research programs to enable water suppliers to provide safe; sustainable; and affordable drinking water. Technologies that were initially demonstrated into practical applications by AwwaRF research are now widely accepted practices. The water utilities have been provided with tools and information to help them protect public health. AwwaRF conducted some of the first research in the US that aided implementation and integration of membrane by the water supply community. AwwaRF has developed relationships with several researchers through its research programs;
