The forest products and packaging companies are applying talent management best practices to attract, develop, and retain high academic performers and to capture business opportunities. The talent management program can attract attention from graduates as well as mid-career individuals. The program can create a comfort level for the internal senior team and limits pan-regional or global operations and customer's efforts in an organization. The talent gap in the industry can be managed by attracting high performers early in their careers, retaining and training the best mid-level managers and developing competence in certain areas such as supply chain management or innovation. The organizations that recognize the key issues and take necessary steps can tackle the challenges in the industry and seize the value creation opportunities with their team of talented leaders at every business cycle.
