A new structural topology optimization method subject to compliance

Based on the fact that the structural domain need be divided into some finite element meshes when structural topology optimization is made, and some optimization problems may need a large finite element mesh, a new structural topology optimization method was proposed. The minimum compliance topology optimization of continuum structures was dealt with volume constraint. The moving of compliance and process of iteration were controlled by the varying volume constraint, an optimality criteria was incorporated, and a new structural topology optimization method subject to compliance was proposed. The results show that the proposed method has higher efficiency, and is robust and practicable, making the optimum structure obtained with 0-1 distribution material property.
