Rapid synthesis and characterization of flower-like ZnO nanostructures by one step solution method

Well-crystallized flower-like ZnO nanostructures were prepared via a simple one-step solution method, using zinc nitrate and sodium hydroxide as raw materials. The reaction could be achieved in only 30 min at 85, without assistance of any surfactant. The structure and morphology of the products were characterized by XRD, FESEM, TEM and HRTEM. Growth mechanism of the flower-like ZnO was studied in detail. Photoluminescence (PL) spectrum of pure ZnO had a strong emission in the ultraviolet region and a broad emission in the visible region. A small amount of Co2+ doping in the sample can effectively shield the defect luminescence in the visible region. ©, 2015, Rengong Jingti Xuebao/Journal of Synthetic Crystals. All right reserved.
