摘要
A novel mathematical analysis model of contact line was proposed on the principles of grinding and for the sake of nicety description of the contact line between the grinding material of the grinding wheel and the rail. Firstly, the trace of contact line was derived from the geometry relationship between the grinding wheel and rail. Then it was compared with the contact line model of traditional surface grinding. Finally, efforts were directed to work over the laws of key factors impacting the contact line lengths. Results come out as follows: The grinding wheel passivation speed can be controlled effectively by speed ratio's optimization, so that the grinding wheel can exert its cutting capability by minimizing the contact line length; at the same time, the relationship between the grinding wheel radius and contact line length holds the guidance for choosing the inner and outer sizes of grinding wheel.
