Fatigue strength test of trimaran's cross-deck structure

Spectral fatigue analysis of the global structure of one trimaran was completed. First, the positions of the cross-deck structure were determined, where there was serious fatigue. Then the fatigue test models of real-thickness were designed. The values of the fatigue life were obtained in the typical load conditions through fatigue test, finally the S-N curves were drawn through the least square estimation and fixed-slope maximum likelihood method. On this basis, the fatigue strength assessment of the trimaran's structures was conducted, and the calculated results before had been corrected revised. This research shows that the S-N curves obtained from fixed-slope maximum likelihood method is more appropriate for fatigue strength assessment of trimaran's cross-deck structure.
