Influence of MgO and CaO sintering additives on thermophysical, luminescent and optical properties of LuAG: Yb3+laser ceramics

摘要
The precursor powder for laser ceramics Yb 0.3 Lu 2.7 Al 5 O 12 were synthesized using the reverse chemical precipitation method. The influence of sintering additives CaO and MgO on the optical, thermophysical, and luminescent properties of the ceramics was investigated. The sintering process of ceramic powders with the Yb 0.3 Lu 2.7 Al 5 O 12 composition was analyzed. When CaO was used as a sintering additive, aluminate phases with varying CaO-Al2O3 ratios formed on the surface of Yb 0.3 Lu 2.7 Al 5 O 12 after high-temperature annealing in air. Laser radiation was generated in quasi-continuous pumping mode, achieving a power output of 2.9 W at an absorbed pumping power of 10.2 W using the Yb 0.3 Lu 2.7 Al 5 O 12 ceramic active material.
