As a critical enabling technology for realizing digital transformation, intelligence and servitization, as well as an effective method for the fusion of the digital economy and the real economy, the digital twin has received extensive attentions in various fields recently. To better support the implementation and promotion of digital twin-based applications, a systematic evaluation theory for digital twin model was required to assist decision-making process in different stages, such as modeling, Verification, Validation and Accreditation(VV&A), operation, management, reconfiguration, optimization, migration, reuse, circulation and delivery, which is still a research gap. This study extracts The evaluation criteria of the digital twin model was extracted by analyzing the specific requirements of its performance at each stage. Then a digital twin model evaluation index system was established, which could quantify the quality, performance, applicability, adaptability and value of the digital twin model, so as to assist correct and effective decision-making. © 2021, Editorial Department of CIMS.
