摘要
Advancement of modern society is required to address the power issue. Previously the energy harvesting techniques were taken into consideration without knowing their probability to work in another setting. To capture energy from radio transmissions, a microstrip antenna is designed in the paper. Gathering of energy from nearby sources for energy harvesting is an alternate strategy for low-energy use. A continuous supply for energy harvesting from radio frequency signal has similar effect as the ones from known sources like wind and solar. The arriving low-amplitude signals are demanding larger number of antennas alternatively for greatest amount of required energy. Microstrip patch antenna is in use because of its low profile, simplicity of configuration, and low rate of consumption to reduce the energy resources. The simulations on CST software and fabrication are performed to increase the power generated to charge a greater number of low-power devices using Radio Frequency Energy Harvesting (RFEH) for the ISM frequency band of 2.46 GHz. The microstrip patch antenna provides a result having return loss coefficient of 26.42 dB, Voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 1.1, and a directivity of 6.14 dBi at ISM frequency band with operating frequency of 2.46 GHz. An EM signal of 1.4v source voltage is achieved, which after rectification gives an output voltage of 3.5 V. Additionally, the setup in conjunction with the suggested antenna design offers the highest level of energy efficiency. The achieved outcomes are effective and can be used to resolve some of the power problems faced by the technical world. © 2024 by Begell House, Inc.
