摘要
Superhydrophobic melamine sponge powder was prepared by two-step immersion method in aluminium chloride solution and methyltrichlorosilane solution successively, the modified samples were tested by SEM, FT-IR and XPS to reveal the mechanism of superhydrophobic transformation from the aspect of microstructure and chemical composition: the synergistic effects of increased roughness, silanization and metal ion coordination. The excellent performance of compacted modified melamine powder as filter for the efficient separation of water-in-oil emulsions was then verified. The effects of wettability, compaction degree, initial water content and particle size on the demulsification performance of the sponge powder were further discussed, and it is found that increasing the hydrophobicity, enhancing the compaction degree, reducing the initial water content and decreasing the particle size could effectively improve the demulsification efficiency. © 2023 Chengdu University of Science and Technology.
