摘要
The advances in polymer synthesis and plastic processing instruments make the production of biaxially oriented polyethylene(BOPE) film via tenter-frame method possible. Because of its excellent comprehensive performance and advantages in environmental protection, BOPE film has a broad market prospect. In this article, the status quo and bottlenecks of the industrialization of BOPE film in the aspect of raw materials, equipment, technology, and economic and social development were reviewed. Finally, BOPE film is expected to become another industry model of the biaxially orientation technology after biaxially oriented polypropylene(BOPP) film, biaxially oriented poly(ethylene terephthalate)(BOPET) film, biaxially oriented polystyrene(BOPS) film etc. in the near future with the progress of science and technology and the implementation of environmental protection policy. © 2021, Editorial Board of Polymer Materials Science & Engineering.
