There will be overvoltage and over current when the train passes through the neutral section with the uninterrupted phase-separation passing system, which will have a negative impact on the electrical railway power supply system and the train. In this paper, based on the simulation data, the property of the over-voltage phenomena during different transient periods are studied and the impact of phase angle for the switching operation on the amplitude of the over-voltage is analyzed. This work also researched the impacts of the angle of the closing operation, the position of the phase separation, and the volume of the residual magnetic on the inrush current of the neutral section passing. Lastly, three optimization strategies and restraining measures for neutral section passing are proposed. After comparison, the suitable strategy is selected. © 2021, Electrical Technology Press Co.
