摘要
The present work shows a novel process for the synthesis of Co2+ doped Mg-Zn ferrite nanoparticles by using an orange juice extract as a low cost and eco-friendly reducing agent. The nanoparticles were characterized by XRD, which confirmed its phase purity and the formation of cubic spinel structure. The crystallite size of the particles was found to be in the range of 26-30 nm. FTIR indicates the two characteristic absorption bands corresponding to the tetrahedral and octahedral sites of the spinel structure. The elemental confirmation was carried out by means of the EDS. The SEM confirms the spherical shape of the nanoparticles with the uniform distribution of the grains. The synthesized Co2+ doped Mg-Zn ferrite nanoparticles revealed better structural properties and environmentally friendly process with potential for use in the application of biomedical fields, catalysis, and electromagnetic devices.
