摘要
The vertical momentum equation for the particle phase based on the kinetic theory was used to analyze the vertical distribution of particles in two-dimensional fully developed steady solid/liquid two-phase flows. A general theoretical formula for the particle concentration distribution was developed for coarse particles which agrees well with experimental data and is equivalent to the traditional formula based on turbulent diffusion theory for particular flow situations. Kinetic theory was used to explain why the traditional formulae sometimes do not predict the experimental data.
