摘要
This article presents how a dependable finite element model is arrived at using personal judgement and experience from the test data. The data used here is taken from the dynamic tests and the analysis results of flight model of a spacecraft. Comparison of natural frequencies and responses between the results obtained from the analysis and test data are used as basis for finite element model improvement. This article brings out how, a simple modeling deficiency of a component, results in global behavioral changes of the overall system. It also illustrates how to incorporate corresponding corrections in the mathematical model.
