Manila launches Philippine reform project

Philippine has announced the launch of the Philippine Defence Reform (PDR) programme to improve the capabilities of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) over the next six years. The capability upgrade component of PDR prioritises mobility, firepower, communication and force-protection. Logistical support is also a priority to improve the operational readiness of troops and reduce costs. The AFP has several related planning systems, such as the strategic planning system lead by the plans office and the operation planning system undertaken by the operation staff.
