In the mid-1800s John A. Roebling was perhaps the best suspension bridge engineer in the world. Prior to constructing his masterpiece, the Brooklyn Bridge, he designed a unique suspension bridge linking Covington, Kentucky, and Cincinnati. © 2010 American Society of Civil Engineers.
