摘要
Various aspects of harness (suspension) trauma caused to firefighters and its prevention are discussed. It was found that Sarah, a firefighter, had suffered harness (suspension) trauma when she was suspended head-up, vertically strapped to the stokes. It was observed that using sit-harness that raised the upper legs greatly reduced the risk. It is suggested that if there is suspension trauma without additional injuries, the process of going from recovery to kneeling to sitting to supine take between 30 and 40 minutes.
