3.0 Gbit/s wireless links using 120-GHz millimeter-wave photonic techniques

Wireless data transmission at 3.0 Gbit/s was achieved by using millimeter-wave photonic techniques, such as optical 120-GHz subcarrier generation, optical modulation and high-power photonic millimeter-wave emission. The transmission of optical 1000 Base-SX Gigabit Ethernet signals over the link with a simple and cost-effective system configuration was also demonstrated. It was found that the link demonstrator can potentially handle even higher data rates, such as 10 Gbit/s.
